Cookies policy

Hello! Let's Talk About Cookies...

Welcome to London Extend! When you visit our website, we use tiny digital helpers called 'cookies' – not the delicious baked kind, unfortunately, but small text files that help our site work better for you.

Think of them as little notes that our website keeps to remember things, like your preferences or how you're using the site, so we can make your experience smoother and more helpful. They help us understand what's working well and where we can improve.

We believe in being open about how we use them. Below, you’ll find more details about the types of cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your choices.

Thanks for taking the time to understand!

COOKIES POLICY – LONDON EXTEND LTD

Effective Date: 1st June 2025
Last Updated: 4th October 2025

1) What this policy covers

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are; which ones we use and why; when we ask for consent; how you can withdraw consent; how long we keep cookie‑related information; and where data may be transferred internationally. It applies to https://www.londonextend.com and any pages we host on the Wix platform.

Under the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we must get your consent before setting any non‑essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies that are essential to provide a service you requested (for example, keeping forms secure or the site running) do not require consent.

Disclaimer: This notice is provided for compliance guidance and transparency. It is not legal advice. Please seek independent review before final sign‑off.

2) What cookies are

“Cookies” are small files stored on your device. We use “cookies” in this policy to include similar technologies such as local storage and CAPTCHA tokens that access or store information on your device. Some cookies last only for your session; others are persistent.

3) Our approach to consent (UK/EU visitors)

  • On your first visit, you will see a banner with Accept all, Reject all, and Settings options. Non‑essential cookies are off by default.

  • It is as easy to refuse as to accept; we do not use pre‑ticked boxes or rely on scrolling/continuing to imply consent.

  • You can change your mind at any time via the “Change cookie settings” link in our footer; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

4) What we use today (live inventory)

Our consent tool last scanned the site on 4 September 2025 and reported strictly necessary/security cookies only. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Strictly necessary / security cookies (run without consent under PECR)

These are needed to provide the service you request (load pages, secure forms, keep sessions stable). Removing or blocking them may break the site or the quote/estimate form.

  • server-session-bind (first‑party, session): Maintains server affinity so pages and forms work reliably.

  • client-session-bind (first‑party, session): Keeps your session tied to the correct client context so navigation and forms function.

  • ssr-caching (first‑party, up to about a minute): Indicates how a page was rendered to optimise performance.

  • XSRF-TOKEN (first‑party, session): Protects our forms by preventing cross‑site request forgery.

  • hs (first‑party, session): Wix security cookie.

  • svSession (first‑party, approx. 1 year 1 month 4 days): Identifies a session and supports essential site operations.

  • bSession (first‑party, about 1 hour): Load‑balancing and system effectiveness so pages load consistently.

  • rc::a (third‑party, google.com, persistent): Part of Google reCAPTCHA, used to distinguish humans from bots and protect the quote/estimate form from abuse. Used solely for security.

  • rc::c (third‑party, google.com, session): reCAPTCHA runtime token used during a user’s visit to validate that interactions are human.

Note: We treat reCAPTCHA as strictly necessary where it is used solely to protect the form you asked to use (a core security function). If our use ever extends beyond security (for example, tracking across the site), we will adjust categorisation and obtain prior consent.

5) Categories we may use in future (and how consent would work)

At the time stated above, the scanner detected no Functional, Analytics, Performance or Advertising cookies. If we later add any of these, we will block them by default, provide clear purposes, and only enable them after your granular consent in the Settings panel:

  • Functional – remember choices (for example, language).

  • Analytics/Performance – measure visits and improve content (never to identify you directly without consent).

  • Advertising/Social – measure or personalise ads/social embeds. We will always keep a “Reject all” option as prominent as “Accept all.”

6) International transfers

Some providers may process cookie‑related data outside the UK/EEA (for example, Google may process reCAPTCHA data on servers outside your jurisdiction). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses) or another lawful transfer mechanism, and we keep our records of providers and transfer locations up to date in this policy.

7) How to withdraw consent or object

  • Use the “Change cookie settings” link in our site footer at any time to withdraw any previously given consent (if non‑essential cookies are ever introduced).

  • You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site (including the quote/estimate form) may not work.

  • We treat withdrawal of consent as applying to future use and stop loading non‑essential tools immediately after your choice is saved. We do not use implied consent or pre‑ticked boxes.

8) Lawful bases and retention

  • Strictly necessary and security cookies: used under PECR’s essential service exemption; processing of any personal data derived from these cookies is based on our legitimate interests in running a secure, functional website and providing the service you request.

  • Non‑essential cookies (if added later): will only be set with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the Settings panel.

  • Durations: Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies last for the period described above (for example, svSession ~1 year 1 month 4 days; bSession ~1 hour; ssr-caching under a minute; rc::a persistent). We periodically re‑prompt for choices and keep consent receipts for up to 13 months to meet accountability expectations.

9) Children

Our site and services are not aimed at children. We do not knowingly set non‑essential cookies for children.

10) Accountability and records

We maintain records of: the categories of cookies in use; the date/time of scans; your consent status by category (if any non‑essential cookies are introduced); and the version of this policy. We log changes to vendors, purposes, and retention.

11) Changes to this policy

We update this policy if we add, remove, or change cookies or providers, or if law or guidance changes. We update the “Last updated” date above and maintain a short change log.
