A Grand Home with a Divided Layout
This beautiful detached house in Buckinghamshire, while already spacious, had a traditional ground floor where the kitchen was enclosed and separate from the main living and dining rooms. The owners wanted to create a single, spectacular, open-plan hub for family life and entertaining that would better connect the home to its beautiful garden.
THE PLAN
Designing a Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Super-Room
Our design involved removing the original rear walls and adding a full-width ground floor extension. This created a magnificent open-plan "super-room" containing a new kitchen, dining area, and informal lounge. A large roof lantern floods the new space with natural light, while a stunning wall of graphite grey Crittall doors creates a seamless flow to the outside
