THE BRIEF
An Outdated and Disconnected Kitchen
The home's original ground floor featured a narrow kitchen in a rear outrigger, a layout common to period properties. This space was dark, cramped, and felt entirely separate from the main living areas, offering a poor connection to the garden and failing to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle.
THE PLAN
Creating a Bright, Open-Plan Kitchen-Diner
Our design involved demolishing the dated rear projection and constructing a new, full-width extension. This approach allowed us to create a spacious, L-shaped kitchen, dining, and living area. A large kitchen island now acts as the social heart of the room, while full-width bi-folding doors create a seamless link to the garden, flooding the new space with natural light.
