THE BRIEF
An Impractical and Outdated Kitchen
The original kitchen was cramped, dark, and felt completely separate from the garden. It lacked the storage and workspace the homeowners needed and failed to provide an inspiring environment for cooking or socialising. The goal was to create a new space that was functional, beautiful, and full of natural light.
THE PLAN
Designing for Volume, Light, and Style
We designed a rear extension featuring a vaulted ceiling to create an immediate sense of height and volume. By incorporating multiple large skylights and full-height glass doors, we ensured the new kitchen would be flooded with light all day long. The long galley layout maximises efficiency, while the bold choice of dark cabinetry creates a sophisticated and contemporary feel.
